Inspection Note from Dr. R. Kannan.
(The note is received on June 4th 2002)

In addition to what is written in the notes on inspection, all the
lavatories which are connected to the soak pits near the fort have
to be disconnected and the soak pits closed. These soak pits are
creating moisture at the basement level of the fort on the clay
soil underneath the ground floor. There is also a latrine
constructed at the southwest corner in 1933 which has to be put to
use by connecting through underground drainage pipe let outside
the fort to a septic tank, which can be cleaned periodically. No
soak pit should be used since it will damage the core of the wall
and its foundation. We are also having a trial pit where the wall
has given way and will repair it this year.
